Meet Toronto-based art director, designer and illustrator, Alex Perlin.

Perlin has both a Bachelor of Design from Ryerson University’s School of Fashion as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Studies from the University of Guelph. While in school, she started a design and stationery business and by the time she filled in her last exam, her line of greeting cards were carried by 6 retailers and she had designed Amana Canada’s national website. Perlin went on to work at a design agency, then as a designer and production manager in Creative Marketing at Hudson’s Bay, all while still maintaining her own successful design business. This fall, Perlin taught third year digital illustration at Ryerson University and began working as the Creative Operations manager for Hudson’s Bay under HBC Digital.

Her range of experience and diverse skills allow her to work across mediums and on a range of projects from storybooks, stationery, websites, food trucks, and brand design for large corporations.
